41 degrees during the day and getting colder at night!

This is a short post just to say that it’s 41 degrees here in Southern CA today and I was not ready for it! I know that some may say, so what, it’s below zero here. But what you may not understand is you prepare for that. You buy warm clothing. My wardrobe, if you want to call it that, consists of short sleeve shirts and jeans. I have one heavy jacket that I bought 10 years ago and doesn’t fit much anymore. So yes, I am cold and I am not enjoying the rain, no matter how much we need it. OK, I am done whining...at least until it's 4pm and I have to go outside again!

Stay warm, Sharon! 41 is cold for your part of the world. It's warmed up here a lot. It's 10! LOL! But yeah, we're prepared for it, so that makes a huge difference. My ILs are in FL, where it's in the 80s and they're wearing shorts. They're spending Christmas in Disneyworld. I think they're nuts!

Sharon! We're cold here in San Diego too! I think another difference is where its cold they MAKE HOUSES to withstand the cold. Lately we feel like we live in a rickety old cabin- we can't get the temp in the house to go above 67 degrees and unless we're blasting the heat all night (yeah right, with the cost of utilities here!) we wake up to 56 degrees in the house! Brrrrr! You can feel the cold pouring through the single pane glass windows and unsealed doors and I think they forgot that thing called insulation when they built these houses 20 years ago. Stay warm my friend!

AMy I know what you mean. We have a rather large long window in the bedroom and when I am sitting on my bed I can actually feel cold air coming through. Whats so irritating about that is I live in the only unit that my landlady has not upgraded the windows in. I asked her why and she said it's just so expensive. But seriously, ALL of her other units have new double pane, tinted windows!
